I knew the approximate time because I texted my friends that I just saw the biggest shooting star of my life. After awhile I checked online to see if anyone else saw it. That is how I stumbled upon this web page.

It split into two at the very end and ended in separate dots that seemed to have color.

It split into two the last 15% or so. One stayed on the same trajectory the other went slightly lower. It ended with dots of light making me question if it was a dud firework. I've never seen anything like that before. I had no doubt it was a shooting star till the end only it was bigger and seemed closer than any shooting star I've ever seen. Never seen one split into two either.
